I have been criticised for 'idealising' or cleaning up my Season 1-2 sonic screwdriver. Amongst the criticisms is that it is not screen accurate because I have used a narrower slider and a bigger slider button.

Well, actually, it is screen accurate, more than my detractors will realise. I have used the button on a closed static prop and combined it with the narrower slider channel seen in Season 2. This is screen accurate.

Look at a BBC production notes pic of one of the static closed props from season 1:

Does the button look familiar? Oh, it looks like mine. Fancy that!

In fact, make it a sliding prop with a narrow channel and this will be identical to my Season 1-2 replica. In fact, a sliding prop version of this, with narrow slider channel just like mine, was used during Season 2.

I hope the cretins who scoffed at me for producing my cleaned up replica choke on the crow they will have to eat.
